Vyne navigated carefully across the rocky and uneven ground, walking parallel to the wind in order to make the going easier, and using her own frame to block Mari who trotted at her side. The length of her dark hair tumbled around her face and neck, pushed this way and that by the feirce winds. Rather than be bothered by this, though, she seemed to enjoy the flow of the wind and the scents of the air.
"Isn't it beautiful, Mari?" she said happily.
'Great!"The little pup answered, wagging her tail enthusiastically as she trotted along at her new friend's side. 'I'll race you; to that big rock!' she woofed cheerfully.
'Go!'
Then they were off, racing down the steep incline, slowed by the necessity to place their feet as they moved downward. Because of this and her natural advantage, Mari reached the rock first.
Laughing, Vyne collapsed next to her and rubbed the top of her head affectionately. "You win. This time."
The race finished, they sat together while the wind blew around them.
